*James’ birth date on the LDS is 17 February 1866 and Peter’s birth date is 6 December 1871. Apparently, James O’Hare registered
the births long after the actual birth and gave the date as the day he registered them - this seems to have happened regularly. There have
been quite a few instances where people have been ‘born’ quite a while after they were baptised. The parents were more interested in
baptising their children soon after their birth rather than registering them and weren’t always accurate with the actual birthdate. However,
Mary’s birth date is 2 days before she was baptised which is probably correct.

This family lived in Ballyagholy on a hillside above Margaret Kelly’s family farm. Isaac O’Hare originally came from Clonallon Religious Parish. Margaret Kelly’s parents were Patrick Kelly and Sarah Rooney and Margaret was baptised in Kilbroney parish on 7 Oct 1842. She was the second eldest daughter of 8 children. In 1901, Isaac and Margaret were living at the farm with their children John, Maggie and Katie (Maggie and Katie were seamstresses). Isaac O’Hare died on 24 Dec 1909 but we have no death record for Margaret Kelly O’Hare. The family have disappeared from Ballyagholy by 1911. * Maggie married an E Noble in Holyhead on 21 July 1912 (taken from a note written beside her baptismal record). |

From what I can make out from the parish records, the Bassans lived in Killowen sub-parish and Michael appears to have settled in Ballymoney townland after his marriage (he is found in Ballymoney in 1901 census). |
