You have a great site and I appreciate all the work you have done. I am searching for my wife's Irish ancestors, namely Sloans. Her great grandfather, William Sloan, b. ca. 1822 immigrated from Kilkeel in 1834 and went to New Brunswick, Canada. Probable relative who traveled with him was a Susan Sloan (age 70 from Cooley). Other Sloans immigrating at the same time to New Brunswick were "Patt" Sloan (age 20) and Henry Sloan (age 20).
I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has information relating to these folks.

Thank you for such a beautiful site. My great-grandparents, Charles McAlister and Teresa Killen were married in St. Colmans at Massforth in 1853 and nine of their children baptized there. I loved seeing the church pictures and copied them to put with the family history. My grandmother Elizabeth McAlister's baptism record was not found at St. Colman's although siblings born before and after were. Would there have been another Catholic church nearby where she might have been baptized. Have just started looking for the family of Teresa Killen around Kilkeel. Her father was James Killen, her mother Mary Sloan. The music was wonderful! I feel like I've had a mini-trip to Ireland. Thanks! Pat

Hi Raymond

Further to my previous e-mail, is it possible to find out more information on the names of people on the Griffiths valuation.  My great grandfather was Hugh Sheils of Moyad and he married Ann Canavan of Ballinran.  Their parents were Patt Sheils and Dan Canavan and I note that both of these names appear on the Griffiths valuation in the townland of Leitrim.  Is there any way of proving if these are the parents??  I can't seem to find any further information about Ann Canavan although I believe that my mother's sister spent her honeymoon in Kilkeel with Canavan relations in 1931.  As she and my mother are both deceased there is no way of confirming this.  I don't even know her date of birth or her mothers name or if she had any sisters or brothers. I have attached the information I have too date on the Sheils family although I have quite a lot more from when Daniel and Hugh Jnr arrived in Liverpool.  Any information you can find would be greatly appreciated.  I have left a good feedback on your guestbook which I also found very interesting to read through.
